XBMC is an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media. XBMC is available for Linux, OSX, and Windows. Created in 2003 by a group of like minded programmers, XBMC is a non-profit project run and developed by volunteers located around the world. More than 50 software developers have contributed to XBMC, and 100-plus translators have worked to expand its reach, making it available in more than 30 languages.
1. To install XBMC in ubuntu 11.10 open a Terminal (ctrl+alt+t) and issue the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/unstable sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install xbmc
2. When installation finished start XBMC Media Center on Dash

The default theme of xbmc is Confluence by Jezz_X
Confluence is set to replace PM3.HD as the default XBMC skin for 9.11. It is a combination of many popular skins, and attempts to embrace and integrate good ideas rather than reinvent the wheel.
