This article i will guide you to install IIS on a server that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 , Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and the latest one  Microsoft Windows Server 2019.IIS (Internet Information Services ) its not installed by default in the minimum installation of  Windows Server  operating systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To install IIS on a windows server that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Microsoft Windows Server 2016, and Microsoft Windows Server 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Install IIS using the Server Manager<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

  1. In the Server Manager Dashboard, click Manage > Add Roles and Features.<\/li>
  2. Click Installation Type.<\/li>
  3. Select the Role-based or feature-based installation option and click Next.<\/li>
  4. Select the server on which you want to install IIS and click Next<\/li>
  5. Activate the Web Server (IIS) role.<\/li>
  6. To add the IIS Management Console, click Add Features.<\/li>
  7. Click Next. The Select Features window will open.<\/li>
  8. Click Next. The Web Server Role (IIS) window will open.<\/li>
  9. Click Next. The Select Role Services window will open.<\/li>
  10. Select the required role services and click Next.<\/li>
  11. To install the selected roles, role services, and features, click Install.<\/li>
  12. To complete the installation, click Close.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If multiple servers are displayed, you can quickly and easily determine the name of your server. To determine the name of your server, press the [Windows] key and the [Pause] key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Installing IIS with Powershell

  13. In the search, type PowerShell, and then click Windows PowerShell.<\/li>
  14. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command:<\/li> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Install-WindowsFeature -name Web-Server -IncludeManagementTools<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
    • Press [ENTER]. The Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager will be installed, and you can test to access the localhost to verify the web server is running.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
