It is used for collecting information from, and configuring, network devices, such as servers, printers, hubs, switches, and routers on an Internet Protocol (IP) network.<br \/>\n1. After install snmp, reate a simple SNMP configuration and dont forget to backup the original config with the following command.<\/p>\n<pre>\nmv \/etc\/snmp\/snmpd.conf \/etc\/snmp\/snmpd.conf.org\n<\/pre>\n<p><strong>Create a new config file  to \/etc\/snmp\/snmpd.conf  :<\/strong><br \/>\nvim \/etc\/snmp\/snmpd.conf <\/p>\n<p>rocommunity public<br \/>\nsyslocation  &#8220;pir8g33k DataCenter&#8221;<br \/>\nsyscontact  pr3p@pir8geek.com<br \/>\n3. Start the SNMP service:<\/p>\n<pre>\nchkconfig snmpd on\n\/etc\/init.d\/snmpd start\n<\/pre>\n<p>4. Test if the snmp service working fine by the following command.<\/p>\n<p>snmpwalk -v 1 -c public -O e 127.0.0.1<\/p>\n<p>or <\/p>\n<pre>\nsnmpwalk -v 2c -c public 127.0.0.1\n<\/pre>\n<p>5.
